About Us
Our Mission
Long View Action is a 501(c)(4) nonprofit organization that leads civic and electoral initiatives to strengthen communities, increase representation and make government work for all people. Rooted in trust and connection, we build community power in rural and marginalized communities to achieve a reflective democracy, a people-centered government and homegrown prosperity. Through civic engagement, leadership development, local media revitalization, strategic electoral initiatives, and innovative tools that transcend partisanship and elevate shared values, we spark durable change.

Our History
Founded in 2025 by Teresa Purcell and William Loman, Long View Action was formed in response to the critical need for investment in the people and places in rural and factory towns and marginalized communities that have been taken for granted and left behind. With Teresa being born and raised in rural America (Longview WA) and William in a factory town (Pittsburgh PA), they founded Long View Action with the mission to build a durable, values-based communication and organizing infrastructure and network that informed, inspired and mobilized the hardworking people in these communities to take civic action to shape a future of economic fairness, functioning democracy and accountable government.
